Students

Students are the ultimate products of our security education programs. WIth more than 235 undergraduate students, and 100 graduate students, we have a vibrant community of students engaging in research, coursework, peer learning, and professional development. We have been designated a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency.


STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS:

The 49th Security Division: The 49th Security Division is a student-run club devoted to learning and development of cybersecurity professionals. The club has developed relationships with outside professionals, organizations, and companies. Students also regularly compete together in competitions, and travel to professional security conferences.

WiCyS: Women in Cybersecurity: The newly established student chapter of Women in Cybersecurity aims to increase the participation of women in the cybersecurity profession, and provide networking and community opportunities to UNC Charlotte students.

ISACA Student chapter: As an independent, nonprofit, global association, ISACA engages in the development, adoption and use of globally accepted, industry-leading knowledge and practices for information systems. The student chapter provides networking opportunities with professionals from ISACA Charlotte, and prepares for ISACA certifications to enhance their knowledge and career opportunities in cybersecurity.


OPPORTUNITIES:

CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service program. Fully funded scholarships to pursue a degree in cybersecurity and employment in federal, state, or local government.
